Founder & Lead Attorney
Dr. Jennifer Sweeton is the founder of Sweeton Injury Law and a Missouri-admitted attorney who focuses on cases involving trauma, brain injury, and catastrophic harm. Drawing on her background in clinical and forensic psychology and neuroscience, she represents clients whose injuries are often misunderstood, minimized, or improperly dismissed, translating complex psychological and neurological evidence into clear, persuasive legal advocacy.

Dr. Sweeton works on personal injury matters involving traumatic brain injury, PTSD, neurocognitive injury, and psychological harm, and is frequently consulted on cases where causation, damages, or the legitimacy of “invisible” injuries are disputed. Her interdisciplinary training allows her to approach injury litigation with a depth of analysis that bridges medicine, psychology, and the law.

During law school, Dr. Sweeton served as Editor-in-Chief of the UMKC Law Review, where her scholarship on PTSD as Bodily Injury: Perspectives from Neuroscience and Medical Psychology gained national attention. She completed a judicial internship with Judge Stephen Bough in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri and clerked with established personal injury firms, including Presley & Presley and Langdon & Emison, gaining experience in personal injury, neurocognitive, and concussion litigation.

In addition to her legal practice, Dr. Sweeton is a nationally recognized speaker and educator who regularly presents on trauma, brain injury, and evidence-informed approaches to damages at continuing legal education (CLE) programs, including the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys (MATA) annual conference. She is also the co-founder of Legal Master, LLC, a national CLE platform focused on trauma-informed legal practice.

Before founding Sweeton Injury Law, Dr. Sweeton built a distinguished career as a forensic and clinical psychologist, author, and trainer. She has trained thousands of professionals, authored multiple books on trauma and brain health, and has been featured by outlets including Bloomberg, HuffPost, Psychology Today, and the American Psychological Association.

Licensed to practice law in Missouri and in the U.S. District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Missouri, Dr. Sweeton brings a science-informed, trauma-focused perspective to personal injury litigation, advocating for clients whose lives have been profoundly affected by injury and loss.
